1.     Who can enter the Whittlesea Cup?
All FV registered club teams are welcome to participate in the Whittlesea Cup.

2.     What is the address of the Whittlesea Cup?

3.     What insurance does Whittlesea Cup have?
Whittlesea Ranges FC (the host of the tournament) has a $20,000,000 Public Liability Insurance and has ensured the venue that stage matches have adequate Public Liability Insurance.

The Whittlesea Cup Tournament, and Whittlesea Ranges Football Club does not offer player accident insurance cover to any participant. Players, spectators and coaches choose to participate in the tournament at their own risk and will be liable for the costs that arise from suffering injury whilst participating in the Whittlesea Cup tournament.

4.     What is required by the Team Manager to do before the event?

  • Register the team online and provide all details required
  • Accept the terms & conditions
  • Register the coaches, team managers and players in the team portal
  • Collect photo ID for all your players and bring copies to the tournament (refer to Proof of Age Policy in the Rules of Competition)

  5.     What is the proof of age policy?
Each coach/team manager will be required to collect photo ID for every one of their participating players and have copies of these documents at the tournament. If you are asked to provide proof of a player’s age you must do so with appropriate documentation that can be in the form of any of the following:

Team Managers are entitled to submit ID checks for individual players on opposition teams. Any requests must be done with Event Staff and not directly with the opposition team. Please try to notify event staff before kick-off where possible.

6.     Are teams allowed to register overage players?
No overaged players are allowed for age groups U8s to U11’s.

U12’s & U13's who are overaged are required to send their official Football Victoria dispensation letter into events@whittlesearanges.com.au

Players are not permitted to play for more than one team during the Tournament.

7.     Is there grading within each age group?
Each age group will have:

“COPA” division which is classified for Kangaroos level competition or teams wishing to participate in this level.

“LIGA” division which is for those who play at the Wallabies/Joeys level competition.

The Tournament Directors’ reserve the right to modify the balance of team levels if required to allow the correct number of teams to make up a competition.

This will ensure that teams are playing at their appropriate level and make the games more competitive across the board.

8.     Can I  bring my own Marquee for my team?
Clubs can bring their own marquee to use during the event.  Marquees bookings spots are only available on request. Requests need to be emailed to events@whittlesearanges.com.au prior to the tournament commencing to confirm if any spots are available.

9.     Will my team get a refund if we need to withdraw from the tournament?
Please refer to the refund policy under the tournament information menu.

10.   What happens if the tournament is postponed or cancelled?
If the tournament is forced to cancel as a result of a Government mandated lock down (prior to commencement of the tournament), all entry fees will be reimbursed. However, tournament entry fees will not be reimbursed once the tournament commences. 

The Tournament organisers cannot be held liable by the delegations for any damages, costs or any losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, costs for additional orders, financial losses etc.

11. Do teams need to check-in at the information desk?
All teams need to send your Coach/Team Manager to check-in at the Information Desk located in the Whittlesea Ranges FC pavilion at least 60 minutes prior to your first game. This will ensure all your team’s paperwork (consent forms and team sheets) is in order and for you to collect along with other important info. 

  12. Catering, No BYO BBQ?
The event will be fully catered. Full canteen services will be operational near all the fields serving delicious hot food and drinks (hot and cold), as well as yummy treats for those with a sweet tooth.
No BYO BBQ’s will be allowed at the tournament.

13. Can we bring Alcohol to the tournament?
Whittlesea Ranges Football Club is a fully licensed venue and when permitted according to the liquor licence, alcohol can be purchased as the bar. Strictly no BYO.

14. Can we bring pets to the event?
Due to council regulations, pets cannot be brought onto the grounds/events sites. Only official service animals can enter the ground/event sites.

15Are the referees fully accredited?
Referees will be provided and appointed by Tournament Management. 

All the decisions of the match referee are final and binding as far as the result of a match is concerned, and no protest can be lodged.

Under no circumstances are supporters allowed to approach, question or criticise referees during the tournament.

16. Who do I contact for help?
Before the event: you can contact us via email events@whittlesearanges.com.au any time and we will respond to you within 24 hours.

During the event: There will be Tournament Officials and volunteers wearing Whittlesea Cup branded apparel or High Visibility vests located on all fields to enable easy identification in case information needs to be relayed or clarification needs to be provided to coaches, spectators or referees.

Any higher-level issues can be directed towards the Information Desk, located inside the Main Pavilion.

17. What is tournament format?
The Tournament format is based on a round robin followed by a knock-out stage for each age group in each division. Each team will play at least a minimum of three matches in a random selection round-robin format in the preliminary rounds of the tournament.
